Ancient Roman Wanderings

Back in ancient Rome, wandering the old streets, alleys and stone stairways that cut through the piazzas. Most likely shortcuts known by ancient locals on their way to the batch-house, market or local bar. So far, as expected the food, wine and sites are unbelievable. More photos to come but here a few… I’ve done a lot of walking so far! After 11pm at night the streets become deserted and dimly lit with yellow light from (now electric) old gas lanterns which barely illuminate the old cobblestone paths and maze-like alley ways. Much easier to imagine how Rome would have been in ancient time without all the ‘turisti’ in the shorts and sandals.

Now off to the Colosseum…
