Ancient Kanchipuram, or ‘Kanchi’ as known by locals, is an ancient site full of incredible temples, mystery and deep South Indian culture and tradition. Only a few hours drive from Chennai in Tamil Nadu, a day trip to Kanchi is an incredible experience that’s hard to describe in words.
A day wandering the temple grounds will fill you with awe and overwhelm you with ancient Hindu traditions. Sanskrit chants play from speakers on spires and waft over the temple walls as many pilgrims wander the holy grounds to be blessed by local priests and make offerings to the idols of the Hindu Gods.
