The cosmic change of Spring

I feel the earth spin beneath my feet.
Churning a cosmic rotation, it sets off change.
Observing the movement of the Andromeda galaxy,  I’m caught in the wake from its delicate spiral arms dragged through space, pulled towards a black hole centre.

I hear the pop of jasmine blooming, and the squelch of vines growing as life pushes up towards the sun.
Deep green foliage bursts through skeletal trees that have been void of life, arching twisted spines in a Dali-esque landscape.

I smell the sweet nectar of flowers and wattle carried through space on warm northerly gusts. Smells that trigger childhood memories of summer holidays, with long, warm, salty beach days.
Endless afternoons with tight sunburnt skin and damp ocean-drenched hair under wispy white clouds that glide along a blue dome sky.

As the warm, crisp horizon swallows the sun and night arrives, I sense my mind expand and push against my skull as if my head is suddenly and disproportionately small… too tiny to house such an expanse of energy.
I lie awake in a quiet night, eyes wind, mind in motion.
The house is asleep, and I wake silent, visualising a new, bright future to the soundtrack of deep, rhythmic breathing of my wife and daughter awake in dreams by my side.

I shape-shift in thought and begin to change my world with my mind.
My thinking influences the space around me spawning waves that scurry outward across negative space.
My shifting mindset emanates throughout the room, blowing away the stagnant stench of dull routine and negativity.
I destroy sticky cobwebs that have sprawled across a static landscape. Everything’s now in motion, shaking off dense surface dust from dormant thoughts.

My repetitive orbit spins off axis and expands out across the universe, alive and unpredictable, gathering stars and glowing in density as I float in a shifting galaxy.
